1. Data Processing Model

WE DO NOT STORE YOUR IMAGES

We want to be explicitly clear: Metadataly does NOT have a database of your images or videos.
Your content never sits on our servers. It stays on your device or is processed in your browser's memory (RAM).

1.1 Client-Side Processing

When you "upload" a file, it is loaded directly into your web browser. Usage of the term "upload" refers to loading the file into the application's memory interface, not transferring it to a storage server. We cannot see, access, or download your files.

1.2 Ephemeral AI Analysis

To generate metadata, a temporary visual signal (thumbnail or frame) is sent encrypted to the AI provider (Google Gemini, Groq). This data is:

  • Ephemeral: It exists only for the few seconds required to analyze the image.
  • Discarded: Once the keywords/title are returned, the image data is strictly discarded by the AI processor.
  • Not Trained On: By default, enterprise AI APIs (which we use) do not use API data for model training.

1.3 Account Data (Separate from Content)

The only persistent data we store is related to your subscription and login:

  • Your User ID and Email (for login).
  • Your subscription status (Free/Pro).
  • Usage counters (numbers only, e.g., "50 generations today").

2. API Keys & Local Storage

We use your browser's Local Storage to save your personal settings directly on your device for a better experience. This includes:

  • API Keys: Encrypted and saved solely in your browser. We never see/store them.
  • Preferences: Your Display Name, Theme, and specific UI settings.

You can wipe this data instantly by clearing your browser cache.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted partners for infrastructure, but they do not own your content:

  • Google Firebase: Authentication & Hosting (metadata only).
  • AI Providers: Google, Groq, Mistral (ephemeral processing).
  • Stripe: Payment processing (we do not handle credit cards).

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for keeping you logged in and remembering your dark mode preference. No tracking pixels. No ad networks.

5. Account Deletion

You may request the complete deletion of your account (email, subscription history) from our database at any time.
